There has been some confusion as to whether the WSU dance on Friday was included in the cost of registration. Our sincerest apologies as the information on Facebook has been consistent while the information on this website has not. The cost of WSU's Swing Away the Cold is NOT INCLUDED in the Smackdown Registration. This is due to the fact that it is being put on by Wright State's University Activities Board, and not by the Smackdown Committee. I want to emphasize that while we are trying to negotiate getting some free tickets to that event (as it features a lovely jazz band, David Greer and the Classic Jazz Stompers), it is an unofficial part of Smackdown. We are, however, still coordinating housing as if it was, for those who are coming in on Friday night. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused, and hope that this helps clarify things. |

Hey everyone! I just wanted to update you on a few things going on with the Friday Night dance at Wright State with David Greer.
Due to security protocol, we will not be selling tickets at the door - meaning those of you who are coming that are NOT WSU Students will need to contact me as soon as possible. The change had to occur because I was informed that should there be a cashbox at the door they would require policemen with metal detector wands (and you would need to be wanded every time you go into the room - a major hassle for dancers)!
Prices are as such: $10 for general public, $5 for students, free for all WSU students + 1 guest (student and guest will need to sign in). WSU students will not need to get tickets in advance, their tickets will be available at the door. All non-WSU people who have not purchased their ticket may not be permitted to enter due to security protocol.
If you are a non-WSU student (or a guest of a WSU student), please do the following:
1. If you are a member of a team, please contact your team leader and have them compile a list of team members that will be attending the Friday dance. Have this list forwarded to me and payment to

Hey everyone! It's getting closer to that time, and I have some updated news for everyone.
First and foremost - Pre-Reg prices for people who are on teams and students end this week! So sign up and get your registration in for $25... All non team member's pre-reg price of $35 will end a few weeks thereafter.
Secondly, the Friday night dance venue has been moved from the Atrium to the Apollo Room. Wright State's University Activities Board is working to confirm everything due to the change, and we will keep you informed.
Lastly - For those of you who are interested in the Jack and Jill, we will be taking registrations during the workshops! There is no pre-registration. But please feel free to e-mail me at
